Call for applications of puppet and children’s performances for the 31st review of the puppet theaters in Rijeka

We are pleased to announce that the 31st Review of the Puppet Theatres will take place from November 3rd to 10th, 2026, in Rijeka, Croatia. We invite professional theatres, artistic organizations, and theatre associations registered for theatre activities to submit their performances if they wish to be considered for the Festival’s selection. Each theatre may submit one performance, and applications will be accepted until April 17th, 2026. The selection results will be announced no later than July 3rd, 2026.

The organizer reserves the right to select a performance by invitation.

The program is planned in two segments: one for the youngest age group and another for youth and adults. The majority of the performances will be intended for preschool and younger school-age audiences. Please note that the quality of the performance will be the guiding criterion for selection.

The festival has a small budget, but it will provide a fee to each theatre for one to three performances in the total amount of 700 euros (with the possibility of negotiation), cover the costs of hotel accommodation with breakfast for a maximum of 14 persons, offer meals and provide technical support.

One award will be given at the Festival – the audience award “Domino.”

We kindly ask all interested parties to complete the application form and ensure that they include a video link to an online recording, the technical sheet, photographs, a brief description of the performance along with the cast and creative team. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
